1 Global; How to Activate a System

	

	Use this BT item for clients needing assistance activating a new installation or activating new modules of the software.  This would include activating add on features such as Graphs or Maps.  All other activation would come from an activation diskette.



Use this BT item to track installation calls where the users call asking for an authorization code, how they get into live data, etc.  Some users have had serialized systems but no locatable Live data folder



You must follow these instructions completely to properly activate your system. 



Before activating your system, FIREHOUSE Software (FH) must be installed. See the "Installation and Introduction Guide" for installation instructions if you have not already installed FH. 



FH is activated outside of the application. If FH is running, please exit the program. 



Insert the FH 5 CD into your CD drive. Access the FH 5 CD installation menu. If the installation menu does not automatically display, access the Windows "Start" menu, select "Run..." then enter D:\AUTORUN.EXE (where D is the CD drive letter, yours may be different). The FH 5 CD installation menu is displayed. 



Insert the FH 5 Activation diskette. 



From the FH 5 CD installation menu, select "Activate an Evaluation System". The "Insert Activation Diskette" form is displayed. 

Press "OK", then follow the prompts. 

Congratulations, you have activated your FIREHOUSE Software system. You can exit the FH 5 CD installation menu and start FH. 



When you start FH for the first time following activation, you are prompted to enter station information. Press "OK", then access the "Administration" menu, "Administration Options..." selection. Press "Add" and complete the following fields: 



Code. Type the station number where FH is installed. 

Station Name. Type the name of the station. 

FDID. Type the Fire Department Identification (FDID). FDID is a unique identifier assigned by the state to identify a particular fire department within the state. The FDID must be exactly five digits. 

Check "Central Station". 



Press "Save" to keep save the information. We recommend that you review page 1 of the "User Guide" before entering additional records.
